SIMON LEE

Executive Creative Director

Suspend your disbelief and imagine for a moment that Owen Wilson, Heston Blumenthal and Don Draper had a baby. Introducing our ECD and joint owner, Simon Lee - part esoteric bohemian, part mad scientist, part strategic storyteller.

Having begun his advertising career at McCann Erickson in Paris, he moved to Sydney in 2003 where he spent five years as Creative Director at Lavender. There, Simon created successful campaigns for blue chip Australian brands including Westpac, The Australian Financial Review and Qantas Frequent Flyer.

He joined The Hallway in 2010 and has since led the agency to new creative heights, filled an international awards cabinet to bursting, written, produced and directed a feature film, and showed us that thinking on your bare feet is more effective than filling anyone else’s boots.

HANNAH STURROCK

MANAGING PARTNER

There’s no more succinct way to articulate the impact Hannah’s had on The Hallway than this: she was unanimously nominated for the Beyoncé Award at our last Christmas party.

Hannah is a collaborative, strategic leader who has nurtured The Hallway’s growth and development since joining Jules and Simon way back in 2011. Before joining us, Hannah had a long history of working with entrepreneurial creative businesses, growing up in production and project management roles at Wallpaper* Magazine and Karmarama in London and BMF in Sydney. She was listed as one of AdNews’ 30 Emerging Leaders in 2018 and is a proud alumna of The Marketing Academy Australia Scholarship.

But what it all boils down to, really, is Beyoncé. Bow down, b*tches.

JULES HALL

CEO

Voted Most Likely To Succeed in high school*, our CEO Jules Hall has wholeheartedly failed to disappoint.

The early years of his career were spent as a management consultant at Accenture, as an account lead at one of London’s first digital agencies, and as General Manager at NetX in Sydney. Jules saw an opportunity in the market for an agency that pursued relevancy and effectiveness with more rigour and imagination, so, in 2007, The Hallway was conceived. Then, Jules was named one of AdNews’ 40 Under 40 in 2010. He sat on the Board of the Account Planning Group in Australia for three years. He’s an active member of the global Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO). He represented Great Britain at the World Rowing Championships in 1993. WILMARI PIENAAR

CX DIRECTOR

WILMARI PIENAAR

CX DIRECTOR

Wilmari has a story about how her rabbit, Branch Bunny Fu, ‘ate the internet’. That is an example of CX friction, and with 15 years’ Customer Experience Strategy and CRM experience, Wil would know.

A tenacious and curious marketer, Wil has worked in lead roles at Melbourne’s AJF Partnership and client-side at Digicel, Intrepid Travel and Symbion. She’s driven by people and what makes them tick, masterfully turning those insights into customer acquisition and retention strategies for clients around the world.

And by the way, it’s pronounced ‘Vil-maree’.

MAT RAWNSLEY

Strategy Director

MAT RAWNSLEY

Strategy Director

Mat used to work in a calendar factory but he was sacked for taking a couple of days off.

HA. GET IT?!

Seriously, though, whether he’s inflicting dad jokes on his children or weaving strategic magic for our clients, Mat is a master. He joined The Hallway early in 2017 as our Strategy Director following a colourful career that began in the DDB Sydney mailroom.

He climbed through the media planning and buying ranks on the McDonald’s account, worked in the Middle East, and returned to join Clemenger’s brand new media baby OMD Australia as Media Group Head.

Mat spent six years as Media Director and Joint Director of Ideas at Adelaide’s kwp!, and came back to take on the role of Head of Media and Communications Planning at The Monkeys, where he and his team won the Media Federation of Australia’s Grand Prix for their Boost Mobile ‘Stay Living’ campaign.

Before joining us at The Hallway, Mat returned to OMD Australia as the strategic lead on accounts including Tourism Australia, Bacardi, TAB and Qantas. What happens when you wear a watch on a plane? Time flies.

SIOBHAN COLEMAN

HEAD OF COPY

SIOBHAN COLEMAN

HEAD OF COPY

Siobhan has been working with words since she was eleven. Granted, back then it was on a paper route, but whether she’s flinging language at the dewy doorsteps of New Zealanders or crafting multinational brands’ tones of voice, our Head of Copy hits the bullseye every time.

Having grown up in NZ, Siobhan’s official writing career began fifteen years ago at Sydney’s Lavender, where she discovered the power of data-driven marketing on the Westpac account. She moved to London in 2009 and worked for top digital agencies AKQA and R/GA, and then spent 18 months as the lead creative on American Express at Ogilvy & Mather in Bahrain. There, Siobhan helped shape HSBC’s radically new tone of voice and rewrote their entire website for the region.

Encouraged by the Arab Spring to move on, Siobhan returned to Australia, and is now a fully-fledged Melburnian and a cornerstone of our entrepreneurial Victorian team.

JEREMY WILLMOTT

Associate Creative Director

If you can name it, Jeremy has probably won an award for it.

Proudly obsessive and relentlessly high-achieving, Jeremy has had all fingers in all pies for the duration of his career, and the effects of his dedication show. In just ten years, he’s gone from restaurant owner in Bermuda (yes, really), to Flash developer, interaction designer and Head of Creative Tech in London, Senior Art Director in Sydney and now, finally, Associate Creative Director at The Hallway.

He’s brought his deep understanding of digital marketing to clients including Google, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, Emirates, Qualcomm, BBC, Audi, Grolsch and Thomson, and been recognised at One Show, the Webbys, the Lovies and the BIMAs.

As if all of that wasn’t keeping him busy enough, he’s also designing and building an app for film fanatics, running his side-hustle Dandylines Films, and regularly judging the Webbys, the Lovies, and London’s Zealous X.

Oh, and he designed and built his competitive dragon boating team’s 2019 Mardi Gras float. Which they won an award for. Duh.
